Invalid License Key in OnPremise agent

Hi,

I am facing a strange problem. We were using the on-premise agent and it was working correctly.

Few days back, we have formatted the system and changed some settings. When I see now, the same machine is not getting connected. It is stating : “License key is invalid”.

What could be the reason ?

  1. Hi Sumit,

    Thanks for letting us know about the issue, can you please elaborate the issue further. The License key could be invalid because of multiple scenario. Here are them :

    1. You have copied the installed folder and files from C: ProgramData folder to another machine.
    2. You have installed new network adapters which changes MAC ID of network interface.
    3. You have changed the Computer name of the machine.

    To generate License key, we use Computer name + Mac ID and an unique id generated for the organization. Each license uniquely identifies a particular machine. You cannot license a machine with a license generated from another machine. Please check the scenarios and if any of them is correct for you, your license will say not valid.

    Workaround :

    To make it work, please follow the steps:

    1. Go to Portal, Login and select Manage – Environment.
    2. You will see all the environments you are connected to.
    3. Click on the environment where you have installed Agent.
    4. Click on Delete to delete the environment.
    5. Go to Onpremise environment and Login again.
    6. Open Settings and Check – Enable Agent.

    After the agent is enabled again, you will see everything is working correctly. If you still do not see the agent to be connected from Cloud, please go to Portal – Environment page again and click on Attach button to reattach a deleted environment.
